Treason in Plain Sight

In the middle of a war, the commander in chief told the enemy to go ahead and hit American cities. The Constitution has a word for siding with America’s enemies. Here is the record, in his own words.

Treason is the only crime the Constitution bothers to define. Article III, Section 3:

"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

The United States has been at war with Iran since February 28, 2026. American service members are in harm's way right now. That makes Iran, by any plain reading, an enemy.

The president of the United States swore an oath to "preserve, protect and defend" this country. This page records him doing the opposite: siding with the enemy, encouraging attacks on Americans, and treating American lives as a price worth paying. All of it is in his own words, dated, with sources.

The Constitution says a treason conviction takes "the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act." He did this one at a rally, on camera, in front of thousands of witnesses.

In his own words

Trump Seven months into a war with Iran, Trump tells a cheering Nebraska rally: “Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.”

On Monday night, October 5, 2026, at a campaign rally in Grand Island, Nebraska, Trump was defending the high gas prices caused by his war with Iran. He called them "a small price to pay for keeping the world safe," then said Iran "can take out a city" and named two American ones, Los Angeles and San Diego. The crowd cheered. California Gov. Gavin Newsom called the remarks "deranged and dangerous" and "disgusting and disqualifying." Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass: "That’s a president of the United States, inviting a country that we are at war with to attack an American city." San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria: "San Diego is not collateral damage. We are not expendable." The White House Rapid Response account replied: "No, he didn’t, you buffoons. He was saying the U.S. is fighting to STOP Iran from having the ability to take out LA and San Diego with a nuclear weapon."

“It’s a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe. They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.”
WHY THIS IS TREASON

The enemy: The United States is at war with Iran. Iran is not a hypothetical adversary here. It is the country American forces are fighting right now.

The words: "Let them." Not "they could." Not "we will never let them." He used the language of permission, twice, from the commander in chief, about the country he is at war with, attacking Americans.

The targets: He didn’t pick a city at random. He picked Los Angeles, the city he sent troops into in 2025, and San Diego. Both are Democratic-run cities in a state he has attacked for years. Millions of Americans, offered up to an enemy, while his crowd cheered.

The "small price": He was talking about gas prices. In the same breath, he put American cities on that same ledger.

The excuse doesn’t survive the transcript: The White House says he meant the war is stopping Iran from doing this. A president warning about a threat says "we will never let them." He said "let them." Then he named the cities. Then he said it again.

The oath: He swore to "preserve, protect and defend" the United States. On a stage in Nebraska, in the middle of a war, he invited the enemy to destroy two of its cities. That is adhering to America’s enemies. That is anti-American. That is treason.
